The Gordon England Register is a list of all known surviving Austin 7 cars which were fitted with special coachbuilt bodies made by the Gordon England company between 1924 and 1930. As well as Cup models, the list includes the Stadium 2-seater, Brooklands sports/racing model and Wembley & Sunshine saloons. Both original cars and replicas are listed. The Register was started in 2009 and is maintained by Damian Gardner-Thorpe and Mark Lance. The Southdown Gliding Club is celebrating the centenary of the world's first soaring flight in a glider, which was made from nearby Amberley Mount on the South Downs in West Sussex. The pilot was a 16-year-old E C Gordon England. Because of his later Austin 7 connections, the gliding club would like to welcome any Austin 7 owners to come along with their cars to their event where they hope to have a number of vintage gliders. They also hope to have an Austin Seven racing car which was raced by Gordon England in the 1920s. They are planning an exhbition at nearby Amberley Museum which has a lot of material on Gordon England.
